I had the [dis]pleasure of playing the Xbox 360 today. What a fucking disappointment. Chalk it up to either faulty hardware or software, but the fact of the matter is that something isn't right.
Case in point: I was sooooooo fucking excited about playing "Call of Duty 2", as I haven't gotten around to playing the PC version yet. Unfortunately, the demo unit at CompUSA did nothing to impress me, as there were serious graphical issues throughout the entire "Call of Duty 2" demo.
Furthermore, what's the big fucking deal about this supposedly ber-powerful console? I noticed plenty of aliasing and slowdown. And the "King Kong" demo in particular showcased a pretty lousy framerate.
The polygon counts don't really appear to be all that impressive, either, and the texture quality is - at times - rather inconsistent. Some textures look amazing, whereas others look like total shit.
Anyone considering purchasing an Xbox 360, please, for the love of God, play a demo unit first. Just trust me on this one.
