i graduated an adult high school program and continued to college. granted i have yet to finish. thats a whole other story.
thats not to say this is common. because i saw many a kids do the ahs thing, then realize a ged would be faster and opt for that. or theyd just dick around in ahs, and im not sure if they ever finished.
then continuing to college is a whole other story.
carteret county was trying to get one of these type of schools i believe, this past year, but i think they didnt get the grant, or spent it elsewhere or something. but it sounds like an awesome program and i wish i had had that kind of opportunity.
we have a "high school" for problem kids, im not sure what all it entails but i never thought of it, and noone suggested it to me. i did really good my last year < of conventional high school > but attendance was never reinforced, hardly encouraged growing up. then attatch my "wierdness" and you have a solution for rejection.
your job sounds pretty rewarding, and you seem to view the kids in a positive manner which is awesome. so many people blame the kids when its all relative to parenting and upbringing
