the deed has been done
and faerie and i have returned from Ancient Art in Blacksburg with pics of my new tattoo to share with everyone
im so terribly excited
i danced about the kitchen in anticipation before we went
(much to the dogs confusion)
and im still dancing around after getting back
but i slowed down long enough to upload these little tidbits
im an expressive fucker
ill give you that
and no, i dont know why i made any of these faces
it just felt odd...and i seem prone to making equally odd faces
i will say this though
the tattoo happens to be right on top of a very sensetive place on my spine and its hard to know exactly how to respond when your feeling about 10 different sensations at once
REN: chinese character for endure, composed of the symbols for blade and heart
endure- to tolerate, to remain in existance, to last
I chose this cause i find the image of the blade in the heart to depict the notion of tolerating and going on a nice little moto for life
sort of an I will survive anythign kind of statement
im a little confused though because in some sources i see that the top little dask is in the opposite direction while others its like this, and im not sure what difference that makes
they all seem to treat it the same either way
i of course called mum first thing (who thinks tattoos are so hoorible because they are permenant and when your all old and wrinkly they will look gross)
ME: "Guess what I did!!"
MUM: *listing lots of boring work related stuph*
ME: Yea, well, that too...You didnt get the email i sent did you??
MUM: Nope.
ME: Oh well, Faerie got me my birthday gift. Its a tattoo.
MUM: Ohh....
but you know after that first whimpery ohhh she started asking me which one and where and if it was done well and spaced out right and colored right so that it wont end up looking like just some blur and strangely enough actually seemed rather satisfied with my choice
i guess as long as i do it with meaning and conviction its ok if ill look gross when im all wrinkly
also i think i need to go chill out and stop bounding around
cause the mucle in my arm has just developed a twitch...
