Every time I listen to Puff the Magic Dragon form Peter, Paul and Mary I cry. It's the saddest song in history. Jackie Paper is an idiot, the only good reason for abandoning a magic dragon friend is death.

I always thought it was a story about a boy growing up, and leaving his imaginary world behind, but from the perspective of the imaginary friends.

Yeah, I think it is, but even so... If we don't keep our inner child alive we kill the magic in the world with it.
