Went to see Star Wars Episode 3 last night, actually, dragged to it. I had planned on attempting to defy my geekiness and not see it, because the first two were so disappointing to me. But that didn't last long and before I knew it I was front and center in a sold out Saturday night show with some napoleon-complex asshole kicking the back of my seat and some disprespectful eight year old playing his game boy and shining annoying light in front of me. All the horridness of crowded theaters non-withstanding the movie was incredible - lots of action, fast plot, less badly acted romance scenes and finally a good does of moral and political messages embeded within the battle of the Sith and the Jedi. Everything I would have expected from Lucas....I'm going to try to see it again before I leave.
Besides that I had a great day of shooting for an artist friend of mine who needed one more female to do nude work with him. I figured what the hell, and he was tons of fun to work with. If and when I get copies of the pictures and he gives me permission I'll put a couple of them up.
The date of departure approaches - and my birthday is on Friday, so I still have a lot of stuff to do *and* I'm getting older. Figures.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks to all the people who have said hi to me, and made me feel welcome. I'm always nervous and awkward in any new social setting, and now I really get why this site has the reputation it does - all the wonderful people!
