Hello from my cold front room looking out to some pretty ghastly weather outside! Autumn is upon us once more.
SO what have I been up to since the early summer? Been to a festival - saw Friendly Fires who were awesome and lots of other random bands who were very good. Seen lots of gigs including Massive Attack who impressed me a great deal and looking forward to their new album, Bat for Lashes who i love and would run away with on the first chance - sorry Lady T (not really but nice fantasy!).
Work has been pretty hectic and have been contemplating why I still work with a bunch of people who have no ambition, enjoyment, purpose in the work we do. I really do feel that I am the only one gives a shit and every now and then feel like just saying "why beat em?" and coast with the rest of them. I just cant do it though, I really do enjoy the work I do and cant understand why the rest of the team dont.
In the past few years I have been able to travel all over the world with the job, meet loads of interesting people, learn so many new things and never once have a day that was the same as the previous one. Is it me or does that sound like a pretty decent job???!? And the best thing is, is that I dont have sales to hit, targets to reach, bossy directors on my back - we just promote the city and hope we create jobs for local people. End of. GRRRRR. Rant over. And breathe.
Anyway, I wont care in a few weeks cos we are heading to India for 3 weeks which is going to be AWESOME! I am starting to get a bit over excited about it now
We are heading to Gujurat for a week, Mumbai, Delhi, Taj Mahal/Red Fort etc and then a week in Goa. I am also going to meet Lady T's family for the first time which will be really good - apparently I have been told to expect lots of food - oh no, how will I cope???
And then it's Christmas, woo hoo.
Things coming up - Gigs: Biffy Clyro, Depeche Mode, Wonder Stuff. Films: Thirst, Where the Wild Things Are, 9. Currently loving FlashForward too - my new TV series to become a total nerd about
