My "kid" is pretty talented. I say "kid" because she is almost 30. She's always had a love of drawing. She tells me that she developed that while watching me go through art school when she was young. Where, until recently, I never had much interest in drawing as a medium, she embraced it as her medium of choice. I was always more interested in digital things. As she got older, her love of drawing got set aside for the day to day work issues, but she still draws the occasional cartoon and loves to doodle characters on the whiteboard in my office when she visits.
DickMan was one of those characters. She had an idea for an anthropomorphic penis in a world where everyone else was normal. By day he was Peter, a mild-mannered office worker, but by night he was DickMan, protector of Dicktropolis. (I raised my kid to not be afraid of sexuality.)
I thought it was a funny idea and so when she doodled this on my office whiteboard, I snapped a photo, digitized it in Illustrator, gave it a logo and had some stickers printed for her as a surprise. She was very happy and, not knowing what to do with the rest of the 50 or so stickers she asked if I'd put them up on my Etsy Store for her. She is my little girl, so of course, I did.
Ah, don't mind me, I'm just a proud papa. š
