Oh wow. It's been so long since I've been here. Not sure what the holidays did to me but I just wasn't feeling the internets for quite a while. I'd let my actual blog lapse over the fall, I'd pretty much fallen off the grid. It's sort of refreshing just letting go for a while.
Since I've been here last, I've been doing a lot of thinking and a lot of researching. I'm starting to seriously plan for the next phase of my life. My kid is in college, she's got a couple years left and after that I'm free to move on to more than just working to help her through it. I might be able to move on to what I'm hoping will be a career as a craft distiller. Of course due to the extremely high cost of a license in Minnesota ($30,000 per year) I'll probably have to move. But that's some time off. For now I'm learning all I can about the process and history of whiskey and gathering data about where a good place to finally get into business will be.
But that's a long way away. For now, though there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I need to get back to work.
