I am a freelance model by trade but my boyfriend Dec and I have had a dream to run a cafe in Amsterdam, not a normal cafe just cos we are stoners by faith haha but honestly, cos when we have been here and before we were here the way he spoke of the place, it truly is relaxing. Because of what is and isn’t legal here it is by far a less dangerous place to live, people are a lot more honest i have noticed. Don’t get me wrong i am sure theres still gangs, crime, hoodlums but far less than in the UK and much more manageable.
I would like to run a coffee shop/cafe and bed and breakfast, english style. I had one english breakfast cooked while i was here which was not a fry up in any way, herbs in my scrambled eggs, Spanish sausage & strips of bacon fat basically, cost me near 18 euros i was pissed off! I cannot cook much to be honest, never been a great chef but a fry up i can do and i kill that shit off! Making good tea, good bacon sarnie’s has been in my family since well, the dawn of time haha.
I love the vibe where you can smoke and chill but i would run a stricter show definitely. Seeing 16 year old kids coming into coffee shops we were in smoking, was a bit shocking so i would be the cunt that ID’d but only if they looked really young as most are of age around the main bit. I love the music and being able to share it with the people who come in and out, i would have a few different levels, on the first level where i would cook food would be the reggae area, smoke chill, eat, sleep if you like haha.
Upstairs would be dec’s area, for the bong heads, people wanting to smoke mix of tobacco/weed & shish pipes etc. He’d be in charge of weighing up all the weed & sorting all that out, you’d buy it upstairs and smoke anywhere in the building.
I would like to be able to care about the tourists cos i understand it might get old having a hometown that is a worldwide phenomenon, often shop owners were rude, blunt, to us because we were tourists which i did not agree with, i said nothing cos whats the point but i wouldn’t run a place that made tourists feel out of place there. For the time they’re there it is their home too, even if only temporarily.
I would like to live abroad as well cos the kids round here are insanely polite, well behaved. Maybe its because families are taught different things in this culture but not one day did i see a crazy couple kicking off in the street or kids making loads of noise on the bus/train etc, barely any litter in the streets. Generally just seemed a more peaceful environment to raise children in. Would make them bilingual from birth meaning i would be forced to learn another language which i have always wanted to do but never had enough reason or motivation to.
I would like to run a business like that, something to be proud of and something you could leave for the kids if they wanted to take it on.
Plus, fry ups and good weed on tap. Always a bonus.
Decided to do one of the members options as it came into my mind!
