So I was always brought to believe that when one was "dating", there wasn't any exclusivity attached to it. You're fully free to date more than one person, because how do you know the one chick you're really gonna like, that you'd consider going exclusive with? Apparently I have made a gross error, and this is not the case at all, because I was hanging out with two girls (separately, mind you), and the were not told of each other. Now, I'm no liar, and would have told them if they had asked, but there's no reason to volunteer information in certain circumstances, as I'm sure most would agree. However, say you have a bar you frequent, and said bar has a gay bartender that's a friend of yours. Both girl #1 and girl #2 have been to this bar, and equally enjoy the gay dude's company. Well as fate would have it, #1 and #2 start going on the same days for the same happy hour, and as my eternal companion, Murphy (of the notorious Murphy's Law) would have it go, they end up "meeting" of sorts. #1 gets quite irate, listing off a list of things I could do that would make a sailor bite his tongue, and then proceeded to cease speaking to me for some time. #2 I guess figured she "won", and didn't seem to care that much, seeing as #1 was now out of the picture. Finally #1 is back into friend status, but purely platonic-like. So basically the question I pose is, what are these unspoken "rules" of dating that seemingly all women know verbatim, yet we guys are kept in the proverbial dark, I daresay even intentionally confused and misguided of?
