It is so strange to read my last blog. My head was in a different place in late October and then, as the Morrissey song goes, November spawned a monster in me. December seems to be heading in a better direction, but, then again, it's only the 4th. I'll remain optimistic. The holidays are sort of bittersweet, I suppose. I should maybe hold off on making any sentimental statements for now.

I'm home right now, sitting in my underwear, 3 AM. Just polished off a bowl of macaroni noodles with melted butter and ketchup (this is a new comfort food of mine). I planned on staying home for about a week, you know, for Thanksgiving and all. OU's winter break lasts from Thanksgiving until January 5th, so I just twiddle my thumbs and kill time with my cats, pumpkin pie, late night television, the Internet, and various mixes compiled via my i-Tunes library. But anyway. I have been home longer than I had originally anticipated. My car needed fixed (done and done) and my new spectacles are to arrive any fucking day now (my faithful pair that I've had for over two years suffered a fatal injury last month, one morsel of bad luck amongst many, many other, bigger, nastier morsels). Once I have my new glasses, I am heading back to Athens to work on some personal projects before Christmas. Maybe I will feel more inspired there than I have here.

Bucyrus has had its ups and downs for me. My parents are difficult, and that has created some problems along the way, as expected. I do not have my sister or a significant other as a buffer right now -- I grit my teeth through their ridiculous behavior and usually sleep in late. I know they love me, and I love them. They are like two bratty children that don't finish their dinners. I still give them dessert. They gobble it up and then exclaim, "We love you!" before prancing off to watch their cartoons.

I had some drinks/comedic relief with Kendra, Allen, Kayleigh, and Jessica at Baker's the night before Thanksgiving (well, Jessica and Kayleigh didn't drink because they are youngins, but they ate and were present), and that was a lot of fun except, unbeknownst to moi, some drunken hooligan sideswiped The Sundance, parked innocently in front of Kendra's house. The driver's side mirror is broken. State Farm will fix it and flip the bill, or so they tell me. This is what you should extract from this brief tale: Bucyrus is such an awesome place.

Luckily I have my hometown friends and my grandma to keep me centered. I've also cleaned my parents' house for them many times over out of boredom. I do this every time I'm home. Because I'm crazy. And it gives me a sense of satisfaction like no other. Mmm... sanitation.

I never told you this officially, but I have a portfolio website. It's www.ericamckeehen.com.

love new Kanye album.

The night is old, I am young, and it's time for fantasy and rest.
