I'm on fire, and now I think I'm ready to bust a move.

My life has changed in a week. In a week everything is different. And better. Last Saturday was the beginning, and here I am in the midst of something exciting. Invigorating. It leaves me with a tingling sensation and a reason to look forward to each day. I met an amazing friend and an amazing human being and Lord I need to find the appropriate adjectives right now, but I am not feeling verbose. I feel. I feel appreciated. I feel safe. I feel a connection, and you cannot possibly understand how much I've needed this. I am going to be vague for now, but just understand that I'm content to say the very least.

Last Saturday/Sunday morning was one of the best nights of my life because I chose to be spontaneous and rescue Damein and his friend from a night of drinking. Then Monday I spent the day with Damein and his friends. Tuesday night was a continuation of sentiments, and Wednesday night involved A) random store browsing, B) bubble gum, C) Scrabble, D) broken porch swings, and E) getting lost in the dark and coming home at five in the morning. Thursday I understood. We understood. Friday I went to Tegan's dress rehearsal for her wedding and I went to the dinner afterwards. The dinner was at the Steer Barn. Great dining experience for a vegetarian... but although I can be as facetious as I want, it really wasn't that bad. I had a lot of salad and bread. Tegan bought me green plaid Chucks for my bridesmaid gift. They are amazing. Later that night, I watched Requiem for a Dream with Kayleigh and Jezz and felt an inevitable emptiness, but it was temporary. It wasn't real.

Yesterday was Tegan's big day. My friend Sara, also one of the bridesmaids, acquired a severe case of food poisoning (from eating Chinese at the county fair... ew) a few days before the wedding and was in the hospital, so Jezz filled in for her. We all got our hair done in the morning, had brunch, drove to the church to get ready, took pictures, and cried when Tegan walked down the aisle with her father. She was beautiful, and in that moment, I realized that we all are growing up so fast. So fast. We are out the door before we're out the door.

The reception was lovely. I had a lot of pasta and breadsticks. The cake was fantastic. And of course, I got to sit with the wedding party at the huge banquet table and toast announcements with a glass of sparkling white grape juice. I was a partial celebrity for a day. Partial-celebrity-slash-bridesmaid. A beautiful day for two beautiful people, and I am honored that I was apart of it. PICTURES LATER.

So, my birthday is in two days. I can't believe that. I feel like my head has been so... occupied lately. I barely have time to consider celebrating, but I'm sure I will in some way or another. Until then, stay tuned.
