So, how was everyone's Christmas? Mine was nice, minus the food-borne illness that I must've acquired during the course of my holiday feasting. I had to run to the restroom every five minutes Christmas evening. It was not much fun. But it seems to be gone for now. I got a lot of nice presents from Shannon and my parents. Lots of nice jeans. And CDs. And Garden State. Also, my friends did a nice job buying presents for me this year. Jessica got me an Interpol tee, Tegan got me a belt with a whole bunch of pins on it (you can replace the pins and customize the belt accordingly), and Meredith got me a green cow piggy bank and a very tiny Batman tee (that most definitely requires an undershirt as I am somewhat of a modest dresser). Sara and Kati and Damein are giving me my presents the next time they see me, I imagine.

Music-wise, very nice Christmas. I received:

+ INXS (Switch)
+ Mae (The Everglow)

And also some newbies to the music collection...

+ Hail Social (I saw them open for Interpol last year)
+ Dredg (I saw them open for Coheed and Cambria a few months ago)

I got Shannon:

+ R.E.M. (Document)
+ The Violent Femmes (Freak Magnet)
+ Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (The Boatman's Call)
+ U2's Vertigo Tour Live in Chicago on DVD

And for my dad, I bought:

+ The Best of Gary Numan!
+ The Who's Quadrophenia on DVD

Shannon got him a Kraftwerk CD. His Christmas was very tech-y. And yes, my family is old skool. We still buy CDs and have CD players.

I feel like I have been working a lot lately. I worked Thursday and we were SLAMMED. It was crazy. And I didn't have anyone helping me, so I felt quite overwhelmed. Then Friday I went shopping with Sara and Ed and came into work late to find out that my co-worker called off sick (even though Sara and Ed saw her in the mall while I was in FYE spending large quantities of money on my loved ones). So I worked by myself, which is never a good thing on a Friday night in a pizza place. But I managed. I had to close even though I came in early. Then I worked on Christmas Eve, but that wasn't so bad because I only worked three and a half hours. Last night I worked for another lovely six hours, and we were slammed yet again, but only for about three hours, so I was bored out of my mind the rest of the night.

Tonight I am off, but I have social arrangements to occupy my day. Friday I think I am getting my hair cut again. Sometime I have to find time to type my senior paper, work on my scrapbook, compile my portfolio, send off scholarship applications, and purchase plates for my handy automobile.

By the way, going back to the Dredg CD I got for Christmas... it is amazing. I am in-love. You must check them out. They are unbelievable.

I am looking forward to the new year. This year has been so difficult for me, my family, and my other loved ones. Between bankruptcies and botched surgeries and relocations and heartaches and new jobs and losing jobs and graduation stress and gaining friends and losing said friends. I have had my fill of 2005. I plan on writing a nostalgic review of the year so I can revisit the pain. You are welcome to join me.

2005 for me was a year of great change, my life literally rotated 180 degrees, twoards the better side.
