The other day, on our 6 month anniversary, I finally popped THE question to my girlfriend, and she accepted. So now, we're engaged to be married about 4 years from now. We went to see her parents the other day to tell them, and lemme tell ya, that was HARD to do. Try being with the only daughter of a couple and asking them if you can marry their daughter. Strangely, not only did they not kill me (I'm typing this, right?) but they actually welcomed me with open arms! (Whew)
