Londons Bloc Party play danceable indie-rock with an unusual sense of urgency, like the band is striking up a merry tune on the deck of a sinking ship. Theyve been lumped in with others of the new so-called post-punk revival: Franz Ferdinand and all that, but Bloc Party have perhaps a bit too much fire to fit in comfortably with their chilly, artsy, deadpan brethren...

This is like diarrhea icing on a turd cake.

The only language that can describe how I feel about politics lately is scatological and/or vulgar.

Our members from across the pond have already had a chance to form their opinions on Kasabian. The Leicester indie dance-rock quartet's self-titled debut, released in the U.K. in September of 2004, won the band a top 10 album there and a handful of equally well-received singles with LSF, Processed Beats, Club Foot, and Cutt Off. Now the band, named after Manson-family getaway driver Linda...

Yeah, the Zen traditions are known for being hard asses. If you hook up with a vipassana (i.e. Theraveda, i.e. Hinayana) temple, they'll take it a little easier on your body. Meditating through sheer physical pain is an extremely powerful thing to do, but no good if it keeps you from meditating!

I live about an hour away from Mt. Baldy, where Joshu Sosaki Roshi is the man. SInce he's like 96 years old, I keep telling myself that I have to go up there and do a sesshin, but I keep whimping out. It's the real deal.

I want to start a band. I've always wanted to be in a band.

Do you know how hard it is to start a good band? I've pretty much decided that the only way it's going to happen is if I teach my wife and some of our friends to play instruments.

My abilities: I'm a decent song writer and I can sing like a...

Starting band sin London is sould destroying. I had pals who were in a band who achieved minor notoriety by releasing a song called "ritchies dead". They didn't have the right sound bite for the interviews, so they got a bit trashed, but they did hit the NME and Meleody Maker. (and for stuff that they'd done before that). The London concert thing is, apparently, very very annoying.

Alos, I wanted to say about your news idea:"I'd be more intersted in your opinion than in your summation of other peopole's opinions.", but I want to say it as politely as I can/ It's a good idea though I really like it. I'm perhaps a little bit tipy so I hope that Ihaven't offended you. smile

I've always wanted to be in a band too, but I could never decide what type of band.

I suppose I could do anything as long as I was singing. My vocal range and my tastes are pretty diverse.

However, sing is all I can do. That doesn't really make for a promising career in a band.

Herman, the snail that lives in our fishtank, tried to "have the suicide" today. We noticed that we didn't see him at lunch, but I figured he was hiding somewhere. When I still didn't see him at dinner time, we started looking around the floor, the filter, all over. Finally found him on the floor behind the aquarium stand, all sealed up tight in his...

Wow! Hal Sparks is a member!

I never saw Queer as Folk because I don't get HBO, but I must've watched I <3 the 80s about 10,000 times. Him and Michael Ian Black were always my favorites on there.
