How about this radical idea. Let's honor the troops by bringing them the fuck home. While they're being killed by the dozen on a fool's errand in Iraq, they are not being honored. When coffins go unphotographed, unreported, and unhonored by those who sent them to their deaths, they are not being honored.
As long as there is war, the veterans who died for peace are not being honored. As long as new dead are being freshly sacrificed on the altar of American nationalism, the veterans who died in truly necessary fights are not being honored.
Veteran's Day. Fuck Bush.
And I miss you, grandpa. I know you'd be just as pissed about this mess as I am. Thank God you're not here to see what the country you fought for has become.
