You ever just have a feeling?

I was sitting here at work, about 2:15AM, and I had the feeling that I heard my wife saying, "Keith. Keith. Keith. Keith." over and over again. Not in a panicked voice, but like she was trying to wake me up.

So I called her. I asked if I'd woken her up, and she said "No, I just woke up like 5 seconds ago. I don't know why." Of course, she's fibbed before when she's glad I called and doesn't want me to feel bad for waking her. Then the phone started dying. Beep beep beep. It's the only phone. So she said she'd put it back on the charger in the living room. Normally it's on the night stand next to her when I'm at work.

And she took me to work, so I don't have the car.

It's silly to be so worried. I'm a skeptic, I don't believe in this kind of shit. It's like the afterlife, part of my brain knows it's bullshit, and the other part doesn't give a shit what the skeptical half thinks. My eyes are starting to water.

I can't wait to get home.

I've got to find a different job.
