It's such an odd coincidence that I finally got an appreciation thread today, as today I turned in my resignation from the Interview Editor position.
I would like to say first that this has nothing to do with any drama or any problems with SG. I love SG. SG, and specifically Sean, has given me opportunities I probably never would have had elsewhere.
I'm also not going anywhere. I'll still be a member here.
What this all has to do with is money. See, freelance writing is (surprise surprise) not the most reliable gig in the world, and some months are better than others. Well, the last three months have been slim pickins, with me never getting as many interviews as I had hoped.
So who's taking over my spot? I don't know, and anyway I really don't have much say in the matter. However, in my personal opinion I'd like to see the SGs take over the interviews, but it's all up to Sean and Missy and the rest of the crew. I told both of them that I'd be more than happy to turn over my contacts to a suicidegirl who wants to take over, and help her get started.
I think it'd work best if one of the girls coordinated and edited the interviews, and assigned them to different other SGs who wanted to do an interview. So basically almost all the girls who were interested would get a chance to do one.
When I started doing interviews on a more full-time basis that was one of the ideas I floated around, but for various reasons it never got started.
Either them or Seanbaby, because he's a genius. Then again, I think Seanbaby is perhaps more intelligent than most of the people I interviewed this year -- so that might get ugly.
But, like I say, it's not up to me. I feel a lot of pride in what I've accomplished this year. I feel like I kind of got the ball rolling on the Words section, and I'll be looking forward to seeing what happens with it in the future. As a member.

I also realize that declaring that I want the SGs to do the interviews AFTER I stop doing them seems... I don't know exactly what the word is, but I know some would ask, "Well why didn't you say that a long time ago?" It's a long story, but honestly, it's not like that.

SG will miss your interviews. I personally know that I will. Good luck with whatever you're working on.
I don't think I had a pic up the last time you posted in my jounal...
Had to change my name after it was MisterUrsa for the day, as when I tried to change it back, I got a message saying that name was already in use, but this one is what I use at the end of emails and stuff anyway. I like the idea about the SGs doing interviews. Glad you're staying, what are you going to do instead of freelance?
