You remember those Nuggets compilations? The ones that compiled tons of good-to-great songs by dozens of miscellaneous garage bands from the sixties that were never heard from again?
Well, I was thinking today, that if nothing else, the "garage revival" and now the "dance-punk revival" will make for a pretty killer Nuggets compilation in twenty years. There're so many god-damn bands right now that want to sound like Joy Division, The Cure, Adam & the Ants and/or the Stooges that you can't keep track of them, but a lot of them have a good song or two.
Removed in twenty years time from the current context of a diluge of anonymous retro-oriented bands, a singles collection would sound pretty good, I think.

dilligan:
Chickens don't have nuggets.
rubbersoul:
I have the original Nuggets on vinyl. Also, there were tons of great compilations in the early punk days to group together some of the great singles from bands that never made great albums.
