I have the original Nuggets on vinyl. Also, there were tons of great compilations in the early punk days to group together some of the great singles from bands that never made great albums.

the other night, at a dinner party, some old cash albums found their way onto the phonograph... it was a quiet period in the conversation, and everyone, in unison, seemed to take a moment of silence... the conversation started up, but not long after the resident music aficionado somberly stated "There's something... haunting... about listening to their music so soon after they've passed."

it was an interesting thought. do we need "space" from the event to gain perspective? are our feelings any more valid once they've had time to stew?

This whole Song of the Day thing never seems to catch on. I did it pretty regular last year and I think my total hits for about 4 months was 230 something. You'd think with all the music talk around here, people would be more interested.
