Hung out with my buddy who yesterday at a venue for the Anamanaguchi concert. The first two groups almost made me regret going. The first group called Dream Fox just had two guys (one of them wearing shades, a denim vest, a red bandanna while sporting a 70s porno mustache) and all they did was game boy music while looking pumped.
Don't remember much about the second group. I was busy talking and debating with my friend and the staff of the local comic shop about planet colonization.Which was ALLOT more entertaining.
Then after what seemed like forever, the moment finally arrived. The band steps up to the stage. The room is filled with semi darkness and cheers from the relived crowd. A moment of silence falls upon the small venue room before a small tune starts up. Its the first track from their new album "Endless Fantasy" which is also the name of the track.

It starts off slow then......... the "small pow" the beat picks up, lighting the room and the crowd goes nuts. Myself included. It's the moment we were waiting for. Anamanaguchi plays some of their best tracks. My friend who is usually stiff was also headbanging and even crowd surfed a couple of times, which was something I'd never thought I would see. Everyone has a blast. After some scores the lead announces that they'll play two more songs, which made the now nervous crowd scream for a certain track in a strange unison.
AND THEY PLAY IT!!! The best song from their new album. The song that's been everyone's head since they first heard it. Prom Night!

Everyone goes ape shit and is jumping, head banging and dancing despite being packed in the venue like sardines. And with that the night is complete for everyone and my feelings of regret took a critical hit.
I haven't been to a concert in years before last night (can't remember if I saw Disturbed or Mindless Self Indulgence), now I'm addicted again. The group and I even got to hang with a couple of the group members and chat with them. And they were cool the entire time. Can't wait for them to come back.
