My "Mom"

She was shitty at raising me.
She didnt keep a roof over my head as a child.
She brought bad men into our home.
She asked my to lie for her.
She practically left me on the streets as a 12 year old.
Its her fault I was taken into a foster home.
She didn't shape the person I am today.
She didn't protect me from the evils in the world.
She was never my shoulder to cry on.
She lied to me.
We haven't talked in forever and you know what she does? She calls and leaves me a voice mail, thinking she can give me a guilt trip. HA HA. " I Know you don't think you are my daughter, but you are. And I am thinking of you. Thanks for nothing."
Today, I called a woman and told her Happy Mothers Day. This woman has cared for me, sheltered me, at times clothed me, offers me welcome arms even when I dont want them, shares her family with me and never asks anything of me. (except to be safe of course). I can only thank my "mom" for bringing me into this world.

So, to all the moms (minus mine) Happy Mothers Day! And keep doing what you do. Remember you are a role model, and there's a kid that looks to you for unconditional love, don't take them for granted and when you need a retirement home to be in, they'll make sure you get the best
