I will for the forseeable future be writing nonsense rambling in my journal. I don't proofread or anything and I'm not trying to offend anyone. So, if you're offended i'm sorry and go get bent.
Pac-Man as a Metaphor for Life
Ive been thinking more and more about this idea I had that Pac-Man is the perfect mirror of my lifes trials and ambitions. Its all true, Pac-Man depicts life perfectly the only way anything really can, accidentally. I watch shows on TV like The O.C. and think to myself, Damn, how is everyone so color-coordinated. Its because theyre trying why its not real. Now Pac-Man on the other hand I have started to equate to The Big Bang Theory or some kind of existential mystery but its just a game and thats where I will start. First off, just like playing Pac-Man will never accomplish anything (dont you dare say anything about hand-eye coordination) neither will anyone in the world, save a select few. But thats not what Im trying to talk about. In Pac-man you control a mouth that runs around in a labyrinth eating food while ghosts chase him. Your goal is to eat all the food and advance to the next level. Now wait, you get rewarded every now and then, you can deviate from what youre doing to get a bonus reward piece of fruit that looks like food as opposed to the identical pellets you eat through the maze. Although most of the time you just die trying to get it, it looks to unique and enticing to avoid. Most people will say, wait you can defeat your demons by snacking on a power pellet and then eating THEIR ass instead. Not really, thats just a clever ruse. You eat the ghost (aka your problems, in case you didnt get the analogy yet) and what happens to it? It just goes back and gets another sheet and comes back to haunt your ass. Thats not even where it gets good. When you do advance to the next level its exactly the same fucking thing except the ghosts are more badass and can move faster. Yes, you can eat them too but this is only level two (I would equate this to learning how to tie your own shoes), youre on like level 25 now. On level 25 you cant look where youre going you just run around and eat and avoid ghosts all while trying to advance, and heres the point. There is No advancement, you can Never win, there is No ending. The only way it will end is when you die. All I do in life is walk around, eat, try to avoid problems, and eventually a ghost will catch up with me and Ill die. Oh and ladies, theres a version for you where you have a bow on your head so you know youre a girl. Have a good game.
