ok, well, after many manifestations of my account of the hurricane, and several attemps to cut it down to less than 4 pages, i've decided to just link to my friend Matt's (malkuth23) livejournal; he was holed up with us for the first few days, and has a bunch of pretty pictures to boot

But one thing I can say is this: if you ever find yourself immersed in a city that has been thrown into a state of complete anarchy, try and seek out and stay around as many anarchists as possible; the 12 of us, in my humble, seemed much better able to adapt to constantly changing situations and lack of information, and organize ourselves much more effectively (and with a lot more fun!) than pretty much any of the other hundreds of people we ran across during those tumultuous first few days.. just a suggestion...

OK! yes! There was fucking screaming and gunshots and violence and dead people and old ladies and children trapped in flooding and/or burning buildings! The point was, all that junk has been over-sensationalized already, and is pretty much the only angle of the storm being shown at all! Anywhere! Matt wanted to show a different side. *I* wanted to show a different side. Fine, so it wasn't ALL peaches and candy, but give me a break!
I don't want ONE MORE SINGLE email accusing me of fluffing up the "Worst Tragedy in American History". (That's so stupid anyway, it was no such thing.) shit. Unless you were there, you can go fuck yourselves.
