Dear bicycle thief:
I really wish you hadn't stolen my bicycle. I had just bought that lock and I know I should have used it so you wouldn't have been tempted, but I really thought it was out of sight behind my house. Admittedly, the seat was a little high, and a little uncomfortable, and the bell on the handlebars only dinged when you hit a hard bump, but it was my principle means of transportation.
Now, I know Reno has busses and that I really should have a driver's license by now, but the fact of the matter is that I don't understand Reno's busses and I don't have a driver's license. What am I supposed to do now? It takes me an hour to walk to work, so now I have to get up at 5:00 to make it on time. There's also the issue of food. Since all the reasonable grocery stores are at least another hour's walk away, I may very well starve. They don't even have spinach at the Mexican grocery down the street.
Are you trying to tell me something, bicycle thief? Perhaps that I shouldn't be spending my money on airfare to Portland? Or else that I should learn to rollerskate? Maybe even that my time in Reno is up (not a bad thing). I will think about it, bicycle thief, in all the time I will now have to spend walking improbable city distances.
Yours,
Alex
PS: Please, can I have my bicycle back?
