I met a holocaust survivor when I lived in St. Louis, Missouri in 1988. I touched her serial number on her arm and just glazed into her eyes. There was no need for words. She was around 70 years old and I was 41 at the time. I only knew her as Mara. I cried myself to sleep that night.
