Learning Things:

I can understand not knowing.
I can comprehend trying and failing.
But those who don't even TRY are a mystery to me.

And it pisses me off when I have a class full of them.

I found the following review for "The Cat In The Hat." I know it's long, but it's worth reading. Goodness me, whatever are we exposing our youth to?

"The Cat in the Hat" is a hard-hitting novel of prose and poetry in which the author re-examines the dynamic rhyming schemes and bold imagery of some of his earlier works, most notably "Green Eggs and Ham",...

Where the heck did my weekend go?!

Let's see...Ogre Tactics, rock climbing, that nettlesome little thing called "sleep," a few movies...carry the two...divide by the Oreos...ack! It's true! All gone!

Ya'll need to watch a radtacular movie by the name of "Musa." It is a joint venture between the Korean and Chinese megastudios, and its production budget made The Titanic look like a student film....

Ack. I just spent half an hour looking through a single thread. It is, I posit, the mostest bestest thread ever, and you can quote me on that! You'll probably want to include the little [sic] notation after "mostest bestest," however.

Go there.

In other news...wait, there is no other news. I go to school, I beat English into the pretty little heads of Japanese...

I am such a nerd.

As if the "stats" box to the left didn't give it away.

I spent hours today doing things related to Magic: The Gathering. Only, everything I did was alone on account of me living in Japan.

I mean, yeah, I know the old cards, but all them newfangled cards are only in Japanese 'round these parts, and my fluency isn't...

There was a roar.

A thousand angels got their wings as a chorus of "Yattas!" and general cheering crashed through the school. Raucous laughter mixed with hoots and hollars. The teachers' pleas for quiet were met with the cacophony of a school in uproar. Their elation could only be justified by this one thing:

School had been canceled.

The typhoon had arrived, and sooner than...

In other news, two earthquakes shook the island empire of Japan today.

The quakes, which struck shortly after 7pm (11am BST) and 12am (3 pm
BST) , had preliminary magnitudes of 6.8 and 6.9 respectively, and
were centered six miles beneath the ocean floor and 70 miles off the
coast of the Kii peninsula.

The shockwaves were felt most strongly in the cities of Nara...

Living in Japan is strange in so many ways.

Today during Sports Day, I saw a plethora of games being played that would never, ever fly in the states. Why? Too dangerous.

Imagine this: A team of 20 or so high school students surround a ten foot log. Atop the log, which is held upright by some number of team members, is a flag. The...

Japan is tiny compared to America, but still a fairly large place. It really does depend on where you live.
If you keep your place clean, however, insects and arachnids shouldn't be a problem.
Where will you be located?
