Last night we celebrated our oldest 8th birthday. He said that he knew easily what to get for her and when i asked if i should go out and buy some gifts, he said he had it taken care of. So after the chuck e. cheesies thing and the cake, the present opening commences. He got her a hover disc (way cool but she was oblivious), a Bratz doll lamp/clock radio - okay i wasn't happy with her having the bratz doll car radio cuz the shit that gets tossed out on the radio can be very inappropriate for a child but i bit my lip and thought bout ways to disabble the radio, and lastly and worstly a fucking phone.
He got our 8 year old daughter her own phone for her bedroom. what the fuck? just what is he thinking, you may ask? he wants her to be able to call him when ever she wants to. Translation: he is undermining my authority as the primary care giver and spoiling her and checking up on me.
So what did i do? I lost it, i said 'no parent in their right mind gets an eight year old CHILD a their own phone adn he proceeded to say he was so glad he got that on tape and i replied 'well it is no secret that i already said no and why don't you turn that camera on yourself and look at what you are doing." he did turn it on himself and waved sheepishly cuz he really doesn't get 'it' asshole!
