I am auditioning to be KROQ LA's new morning sports guy/gal/midget/whatever...I have to write my own 2 min report...No biggie, except that I want to do the best job I can, and at least ATTEMPT to be taken seriously by all the hardcore manly-man listeners who think "there's no way a chick can talk seriously about sports" (Grrr!! Bite me, you chauvinistic fucktards!!!) Yet, at the same time, they want me to be "funny" and "my own unique self". Hmmmmmmmm...
So here's the prob: My "normal funny self" can more than hold her own talking w/any jock-type dude out there about any fucking sport you want (my dad's a football/basketball/baseball/track coach...and I had to go to ALL of his practices and games and shit when I was little...and when we weren't actually AT games, he was making me watch it on TV...'nuff said!!) But, I also see things from a "horny girl" perspective...Meaning, my alliances usually belong to the team w/the hottest guys on it...For example. my current faves are the Yankees b/c of Derek Jeeter (drool!!), the Pats b/c of Tom Brady and the Bucs b/c of "Chuckie" (tee hee!!), and, of course, Jeff Gordon... b/c of his rear tire changer...SO DREAMY!!!! (I kid, natch...It's his gas man that really steals my heart!! )
OK, so I can feel you guys rolling your eyes at me (trust me...I get that a lot!!)...But, let me defend myself by saying that I think my "the team/player/whatever who is hottest rules all" perspective is valid for 2 very important reasons:
1. None of these guys/teams/whatever SUCK...They're all REALLY, REALLY good...Some people jump on team bandwagons and support whoever's winning...But not me... If Jeter suddenly went to the Royals or something, I'd be Kasey for KC, baby!! Yee haw!!
2. A lot of people have allegiances to teams for years for no apparent reason...I mean, think about it: Decades go by..."Team X" doesn't have any of the same players or coaching staff it did when "Fan Y" originally started pulling for them...All that's left of the team they grew up watching is their name (IF that!!)...What the hell is it that gets you so worked up about them, then? Esp. in the cases where "Fan Y" isn't even close (geographically speaking) to the team in question...How the fuck do you justify your undying loyalty to "Team X", in that case? Doesn't it make just as much sense (perhaps even more) for me to base my preferences upon a particular team and/or player's level of hotness? At least I have a REAL REASON for liking the people I do!! (FYI: I have posed that question to MANY of my guy friends, and NOBODY has given me a decent answer yet...I'm just saying, is all!!
OK, I could go on forever, but I'll sum it up like this: For all you die-hard sporty guys...If I was on the radio delivering sports news, and I OBVIOUSLY knew what I was talking about, would you write me off for talking about the hotness factor of teams, too? I mean, I KNOW that's something to set me apart from the other applicants, but maybe that would make me look like a silly little frivilous girl to the already doubtful-of-a-girl-sportscaster's-abilities listeners?
Just wondering...Any advice/input would be most definitely appreciated!! (and no "input" jokes, pervs!! You know what I mean!!!)

OH...and I'm totally going to get that Magnum costume this afternoon...I am going to be the coolest girl that ever dressed up as a Target-ized version of Magnum EVER!!! Go me!!! But, don't worry...that's just for the kids' parties...I have a trajillion "grown-up" costumes planned, too...I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
