Man, Toreena is leaving that suck! She was the original reason I ended up here. Admittedly the original reason for signing up was somewhat shallow but hey Im only human. It seems like many of the SGs are leaving lately. It is sad but they have lives of their own and the freedom to do what they wish. All will be missed.
In other news I am getting sick of the bad science that is pouring out of every orifice of this country. I blame the media and the government for most of this. Frankly those are the two groups that should have no say about science period. But also to blame are these left wing Tesla like nut jobs. The difference being that Tesla was an eccentric genius these guys are just eccentric nut jobs. The whole cloning thing is my current source of frustration. People are so down on anything remotely involved with cloning because of this fucking Christian fundamentalist core of America. Yes I agree that reproductive cloning is probably not a good idea for most people. It dilutes the gene pool. But the fundies are of the position that a clone is a non person or that a clone is the original person. NO! You fucking tree swinging moron! Are twins considered to be one person?! They have the same genes as eachother! So fuck off with your insane unsubstantiated bullshit! Frankly I think the science minded people of this country have been pretty laid back about this crap. But then I guess thats what happens when you have a sense of ethics and a reasonably unclouded view of how the world works. Fuck you fundamentalist, you are just as bad as any Muslim suicide bomber!
That was ranty but I think that scientists in this country take too much crap. If you dont like science go live in a cave since that is all you have left.
Watched fight club again, was good. I cant watch that movie enough but the best time I watched it was the first. Another thing I need to do is get a good sleep pattern going again. Ive been sleeping from 9am to 9pm all weekend. This cant be good for me. Finished Chem homework, Calc homework, didnt bother with English homework but I can bang that crap out pretty quick.
I think Im going to try my hand at photography again. Anyone know where I can get a half way decent used SLR camera and some cheap accessories? Ill probably just be doing B&W shots and developing them in my garage. Im not going to try and do it professionally but I just need a stress reliever.
Ah well, too long so it ends here.
Oh and if someone in the detroit list gets around to letting me into the group it would be nice. I've been posting like a mad man.
