Well I suppose I have used Jetlag as an excuse for long enough now... so here it is.

The trip was awesome but really hot! Osaka was 40 degrees when we were there, Tokyo was much better at a balmy 27. My father and I climbed to the top of Fuji just in time to see the sunrise over an ocean of clouds... photos to come. I spent a great day shopping in Harajuku, bought some new clothes and a few gifts... photos to come. Saw some great temples, castles, islands and such. Two days at expo... Canada's pavillion made me proud. America had the only pavillion which required your bags to be x-rayed, and a metal detector with pat down to enter. eeek

On our last day we returned from Osaka to Tokyo. After checking into the hotel we went to a little ramen stand in Ueno park (in Tokyo's old downtown) just as I was buying the tickets for the noodles, the vending machine started jumping up and down. There was a magnitude 6 earthquake and we were right on the epicenter. As we ate our noodles there was a series of aftershocks. Having lived in Japan, learned helplessness had already set in and I was calm. My father was very nervous about the whole experience. Now I am back, and my grass is overgrown. A little clean-up and we will be looking at a BBQ. skull

My whole family was excited about the package. My son and my mom both opened it before I even had a chance. And I think my mom spent more time looking at the collector's book than I did. I am going to take this stuff to work and share with my friends there. I will be sending you an email later. I just wanted to say Thank YOU so much. I am so flattered and grateful. You are just stupendous. love love love love kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss
