Went to go see Salo at the Cinema Arts Center. Made sure I got to go to the first showing instead of the late night one just so I could avoid the shock tarts. There's nothing more in the world I hate then having my cinematic experience ruined by the immaturity of the shock tarts crowd.
It was my first time seeing Passolini's masterpiece on the big screen and the transfer was supreme. The film was accompanied by background info by the head of the theater on Passolini and his body of work. I have sooo much love for the master of ceremonies for always trying to make sure that the films he screens are not completely misunderstood.
SHOCK TARTS: those who only see a movie cause they heard it was gross. They act immaturely and laugh at parts in films that are definately not funny. ex: rape scenes like the ones featured in "Cannibal Holocoust". They are usually too simple minded to acknowledge the film makers true intentions behind the feature.
