Criticism

The Savages are upon me
and I feel my flesh
Burn beneath the teeth
of their indifference

Uncaring eyes stare at
little Timmy because
he was a cripple
staring, uncaring eyes
of criticism

People look down on
good people such as
Elton John just
because they have
a different sexual orientation
from them

I saw a woman
whose teeth were
straight like
White picket fences
Until she looked
at her husband--
Then they looked like shattered windows

Society hates difference
The persecuted tries
to find a way to make
Criticism more constructive
than harmful and breaking
But society does not care
about other's feelings and
how much a person has contributed

Society sees difference
individuality and uniqueness
as a thorn in its side that
needs to be taken out
Society sees indifference
and ignorance as the highest
intelligence
Society sees only "normal"
and "right"

Humanity is corrupted
There is no compassion
no love in humanity
Humanity is doomed
doomed to eternal hatred
If only humanity had in born
with a little compassion or
love then humanity might
have a chance to live in
peace and harmony

Where is the love you say
The love is there
just that people choose to
ignore it as their ignorance is
high and their minds are closed
Maybe if they were more open-minded
the criticism may quit and
love will prevail as
peace may yet have a hope
for all of humanity
as peace is the answer to all
