well ive been really busy with colleen the last few days, finally. sunday we went to the komaki grounds, white pole rd, a samurai house/memorial, a shrine, and then to the komaki onsen. by the time we were all done with everything it was about 9 pm and i was fucking exhuasted, especially after relaxing in the onsen! then yesterday we got up early and had japanese sausage and egg mcmuffins on our way to the oirase gorge. it was good to go on a weekday when its not infested with japanese crawling all over the place lol. so we had the entire gorge to ourselves. everything was so white with snow, but the bad part was that the snow cleared from the road was piled along the sides really high, so we didnt really get to see the stream that runs all along the road. we just fell thru most of what we tried to stand on! when we decided to get back in the car and drive the rest of the way to the lake, there were parts of the road almost too steep for my poor car to drive up on the snow and ice. when we got out of the car the tires smelled so bad!!!! by the time we got to the lake and the little shops it was snowing again really bad so we just turned right around and headed for home. i was so glad to be out of the gorge. but we definately have to go back for the snow festival, when tim can drive! colleen loves using my camera.
we found out a little bit more about us leaving japan. we will be flying out of misawa sometime between the 15th and 31st of march, and have to report to our new base in georgia on april 20th. so we will have about a month leave. but we will have our cats with us(on the plane!) and have to pay our own way from LA/seattle to ohio. im really worried about how our cats are going to handle all of this. but i cant wait to be home again! and maybe if i am really fucking lucky, i will be able to see sakura(cherry blossoms) a little bit more before i leave, since they dont bloom until late march/april!!!!!
