Spent my evening at work chatting with people, watching The Boondocks, listening to the Cure and every once in a while actually contributing to the effort. Tomorrow it's District 9 and Inglorious Basterds with a friend.
It's homecoming weekend in town - which is basically just a big fair where the serve up the usual unhealthy festival food, hold pageants where parents get to exploit their spawn, suffer crappy local talent and have at least one washed up act on the main stage at some point. Last year I think it was Nelson. If you have no idea who that is, consider yourself blessed for having missed those 15 minutes of lame.
This year it's .38 Special. Who the hell is that? Fuck if I know.
May hit the bookstore when we're out tomorrow, but I don't know what I want to read these days. I still have that stack of Gaiman to finish, with probably The Graveyard Book as the next title.
Also finally heard from my depressed friend who's been MIA for quite a while now. She's still sick with some medical problems that were making things worse, but she's in slightly better spirits though she's hit the same wall with her job and this town that I have. I almost joked we should run away together. It's not bad company when we're not tearing ourselves apart. Too bad we'd eventually kill each other.
