I was quite sad to see Les Paul's obituary coming over the wire when I walked into the newsroom this afternoon. Though his own music might now have been my cup of tea, that wonderful invention of his brings me joy and makes life a bit more bearable everyday, even if my own has been collecting dust for a while.
Also had a long conversation about John Hughes with a co-worker. He's been gone at least a week, but we're still talking about The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Weird Science. I'm so Anthony Michael Hall...even if I wish I'd been a bit Judd Nelson. At least I'm not Chet.
Nothing else going on other than the car lot down the street adding on a new addition and lining it with fluorescent lights that can your retinas out. Quite annoying. And a bit sad when that's the kind of thing you're thinking about because your work schedule is so hectic and friends are either on vacation or seemingly comatose with depression.
I don't like the silence. It's something I'm guilty of myself...but it really is quite disturbing when you're on the other end of it.

I can't speak to any one of them without them going on the defensive.
