I just stayed an hour after work so I could attend a meeting with a representative from the Associated Press so she could teach us how to use a search engine. Seriously. How to use a search engine. The baby boomers in the room took notes. I couldn't figure out whether or not they were actually that dense or if they were just playing along and playing the role of company men.
I went back to reading and Cormac McCarthy's The Road and nodded along as needed.
Not the best book to be reading when you're already in a dour mood, by the way. I appreciate a good father-son story and I'll see the Viggo Mortensen film when it comes out this year...but yeesh. It's not often I find an apocalypse so apocalyptic.
