doing sign layouts in Corel Draw is just about the easiest thing that can be done. i could train a monkey to do my job. some days are fine, i just breeze through everything, but other days i think about the comics i want to draw and the boundaries i want to push and it feels like the days are just stacking themselves up against me.

I was in that mode all summer. I made no decisions really, I just went where they pointed, did what they said, and slept when I wasn't working. It was actually sort of refreshing for most of the summer.

we had two and three designers missing from our design department most of this month. it has been absolute hell.

we have a woman on maternity leave now and its just a nightmare we're so behind. i can't even fuck around anymore. i have to do layouts all day. its so menial and boring and i start falling asleep cuz my mind is not engaged.

I want to see that movie...sorry about the hot water heater :knocking on wood: I hope I don't have to do that.

i have a soft spot for will smith movies. but i'm still reeling from Bad Boys II from last summer. what a shitty movie. and so much unnecessary violence. it felt like watching a facsist gunfest. cops shooting everything.

what do you write?

every time i've read Lovecraft i've been taken with the urge to illustrate parts of his stories. i'd like to do a comics adaptation of the Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward at some point in the next ten years or so (i've got my projects planned pretty far, I guess we'll find out if I can put in the extra hours to jumpstart my comics work).

I would be incredibly intimidated by taking a shot at Lovecraft inspired prose.
