I went and saw my mommy today, after not seeing her at all this week. I missed her.

Spent most of this afternoon outside, went to eat lunch with my sister on the patio at a local Mexican place. We went to Hastings (music, movies, books store) and I bought too much stuff. I lost my CD case which held nearly all of the CDs I've made or bought over the last seven years or so. All of my unique mixes are gone.

C'est la vie. So I bought some CDs today to restart my collection.

I bought the following:

Smashing Pumpkins, "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness"
Lady Gaga, "Born This Way (Deluxe)"
Prince, "Purple Rain"
Live, "Throwing Copper"

I drove around in the country for a few hours, sampling the songs I hadn't listened to before. I know Lady Gaga is kind of silly, but she's a lot less silly than most people think. There's something to her, I think, and I like it.

I've been hearing a lot of Live on my Slacker Radio lately, so I wanted to pick up that album because several songs from it have been hanging around my head.

I had a copy of "Purple Rain" but it got lost in my CD case and I listen to it frequently, so I decided to go ahead and replace it.

I haven't ever bought a Smashing Pumpkins album, and this one seems to be a good place to start. Two discs of songs, many of which I already know. Good stuff.

I forgot how expensive CDs are, since I've been stealing music since I started listening to CDs, basically.

It's been amazing outside today, following the showers last night brought. Perfect driving weather for someone with no A/C in their vehicle.

Anyway, pretty good day so far. I'm going to be bored all evening, since tomorrow is Labor Day and I don't have to work.
