Looks like I'm going back to work tomorrow, sigh. I'm not sure what they expect me to be doing. Certainly not waiting tables in The Boot. Ugh.
I will most likely be sitting at the register all day.. For the next couple of weeks, until my job on campus starts.
What distresses me about going to work is not knowing how much I'm going to get paid or what I'm going to be doing, when I'm expected to come in. Er. I usually am paid "$2.25/hr." but that's bullshit.. I've been given $75, hand-written checks every pay period since February, along with all the other waitresses except the ones who have been getting the same checks for years and years now. My last check stub was from February. I'm irritated with the whole situation. My aunt owes me around $300 in back pay, but it's so difficult to approach her with anything like that, despite her being the owner and my boss. Sigh.
I should be getting a check from the three days I worked last week, as it was the end of the pay period that I missed the week before of. My rent (only $275) is due the fifth and I have $26 in the bank. Pretty sad. I'll make rent somehow, plus my school money is coming in this month, along with my starting a new job at the end of the month. I'll make it, I just hate hanging in the balance.
It sucks knowing that I earned $300 this year that I'll probably never see. Also, recall that my aunt/boss doesn't pay into Worker's Comp. and I don't have health insurance, so I have to pay my mother back for my my little trip to the Urgent Care Center for my foot.
Low is me.
