Jesus, this has been quite an exhausting week.
Waking up at 6 every morning to go watch my 4-year-old sister until 1:30, scramble to get ready for work at 3, end up waiting tables all week to cover for other waitresses who have been sick, get home around 9 o'clock, go hang out with an old acquaintance until late in the night, wake up at 6 am, repeat, repeat, repeat, all week!
Ahhh!
And now that I am finally getting the weekend to rest and recuperate before I start school on Monday, I am getting sick. Some cold/flu business, not cool. I've been coughing up Nickelodeon slime, sneezing, stuffy/runny nose, raw throat, exhausted from work, stress, lack of sleep. Blegh.
I went to sleep around midnight after drinkin' with my older sister for a while, slept until 8 this morning. I tried to get around and watch Star Wars: Episode IV, only to fall back asleep and wake up on and off until 6 pm.
A list of stuff I shoved down my throat in attempts to get better over the weekend:
- Tylenol Cold & Flu tablets (2)
- Gigantic gulp of Dayquil Cold & Flu (ugh, hate that stuff)
- 1000 MG tablets of Vitamin C (2)
- All taken with orange juice, low pulp
I also drank some Sleepytime tea last night.
I think I did some preventative good, because I don't feel as bad as I think I would have had I not taken those precautions. However, for feeling decent throughout the week, I feel pretty crappy nonetheless.
I'm still exhausted, but I feel like I should get something done, if nothing more than update my SG blog.
My mother came and brought me my make-up (random) and some Cheerios I left at her house, haha. She had in tow her boyfriend's twins (9-year-olds), their friend, and my little sister, all of whom ran amok and hollered all throughout my floor in the dorm. Real cute.
My mom finally got to see my room; the last time she'd been up here was when I moved in, haha. I served the girls some orange juice, and they were on their way.
I saw Hellraiser for the first time. It was so fucking great! I was partially named after the character Kirsty, which my dad came up with, but my mom thought it would be too difficult for people to pronounce (go figure, as most strangers fuck my name up still - it's pronounced KER-STIN.. not complicated as everyone makes it). Anyway, I guess you could call Hellraiser somewhat of a namesake for me.
Tried in vain, once again, to fix my WoW. It seems, in attempts to install BC, that the same connection problems I had initially with the dorm server have popped up again after I tried to reinstall the original game client. Now it's all just fucked and I can't play WoW or install Burning Crusade. :'( I did meet an IT chick who works in the basement of my dorm who plays WoW, so I will have to plea with her for helps. Sigh. So much hassle, but I have two months free game time on WoW left and I don't intend to waste them trying to fucking fix the game.
Anyway, I'm starting class back up on Monday. I'll remind you all of my classes, since I'm already writing a ridiculously long entry. I'm taking Freshman Orientation (bullshit); Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe; Critical Analysis & Writing II (advanced Comp. II); and Elementary French II. Not going to be too bad, especially after my orientation class ends in six and a half weeks. I'm looking forward to my other classes; they sound pretty interesting and not too overwhelming (French II excluded). One thing I'm looking forward to immensely is moving out of the dorms and into my own place. I'm on a pretty tight budget, but I'm sure I can find a studio apartment that will suit my financial means, if not some all bills paid option. It's pretty exciting, even though I'll have to get another job just before summer. I'm not doing too bad, I don't think.
Sorry this was so long! I'm glad you read it, though.
G'night, dears!

phahadron:
I LOVE "Hellraiser!!!!" "Hellbound : Hellraiser II" is also quite good, then the other sequels tend to get kinda cheesy. But that first one is a motherfucker. There are plans for a remake, which I am kind of on the fence about. Pascal Laugier (director of "Martyrs," which you MUST see) was slated to direct, but he's bowed out. Anyway, yeah...great flick.
