I only want to post this here because I don't want anybody that I know to know that I have money. Its not a lot but I have lived paycheck to paycheck all of my life. The most I have ever had at once was $5,000 from an surprise inheritance from my grandmothers sister. It went fast but I had fun with it. Now I am waiting for a $ 25,000 check. It is back-pay for the last 2 years all at once but I wasn't really expecting it. Now its been 2 months and I have had some difficulty getting the money. I went out and signed up with a Greendot card. I set them up as my direct deposit but nothing went through, I find out that anything over 10,000 is kicked back as they have a maximum amount. WTF?! Who would have thought? A bank that doesn't want too much money. Oh well. I asked that the check be mailed to me, I was told it would take 7-10 days for delivery. 2 weeks go by and nothing. I call and they said as long as there is a direct deposit on file the processing center will not mail it. Now I am told this?
I am starting to get the feeling that getting what I am owed is going to be a challenge. I realize that every day someone holds your money a day longer they make interest on that money so sometimes you have to get loud to get payed. It took me a week to finally get someone to remove my direct deposit bank and request paper check but I was approved for a bank account at a bank down the street so I was able to get an official bank account with direct deposit and now I am just waiting for the deposit that could take a day up to 2 weeks. I am excited but it shouldn't be this difficult to get this money, seems like someone has been playing games at my expense.
My roommate doesn't know about the money and I aint going to tell him since he already has hit me up 3 times wanting to borrow money. I plan on doing a nice vacation. I really need to get out and see the world. I have been cooped up too long. I am thinking about a cruise or hawaii trip.
