i quit my job today (i've been there for almost 8 years).

i don't have another job to go to.

i just couldn't take it anymore.

not sure how i feel about it yet. totally relieved. like a weight has been lifted. excited beyond belief. nervous. feeling kinda tough. scared. happy.
yep. i think that about covers it.

huh. all in all, it was a good day.

WHOA! It's scary jumping off but it feels sooo goooood!!! I spent 9 years at a job that was like a growing weight, pushing down more and more... It was so tough, I was totally shackled with the golden handcuffs. I was well compansated (though not buying a decent home in Los Angeles-well compensated) but better then average. The financial side is scary becasue most middle class people are rasied with this ethic instilled in them that you always have to be working and advacing and your pay and benifits should be increasing and security is better than chance, but life is simply more then that...

I was totally vindicated last week with respect to my previous employment. I still consult for them (out of the office and around my schdule) but the person they hired to replace me only lasted 4 months! I spoke to my counter part in the office about the situation and his response was that the new person wouldn't put up with the shit I took for so long.

Sorry to ramble about myself, I just know the feelings you are experiencing at the moment.
