Very rarely do I come across answers to my interview questions that blow my mind. After so many trips down weird roads, not much catches me off guard anymore. But in this interview I did back in 2004 with a band from Norway called Ungdomskulen, I found one, a perfect answer to a stupid question. Here it is
JUSTIN: What does Rock and Roll mean to you?
UNGDOMSKULEN: It means colored small sunglasses on winkled faces, a reality band that oughta stay in their eyeliner smeared beds, it means ignorant old ghouls sucking the world empty for money, its something P.Diddy can buy, its a slogan on a t-shirt worn by Richie Sambora, it has Sheryl Crow smudged all over it, and it hisses like a bunny rabbit, its clam and its stale, it has no shwung, pride or relevance, its a fuck with the lights out, its established, processed and free of bones, and it belongs in a museum along with andy warhols "can of soup" and "mick jaggers" hole of ass!
Ever since that day, I never asked that question again. I feel like Im sticking it to the suits just by reading that. Very satisfying.
