I think being a fireman is very noble but, it is also very difficult emotionally. I had a friend who had a very hard time with it because he had trouble dealing with the feelings involved with the times that you can't save someone's home or sometimes their life. He would get horribly depressed and start to question his entire existance when there was someone or something that he couldn't save. I think that we should do a better job as a society of preparing people in the helping professions for dealing with those types of situations. It also bothered him that most of his co-workers didn't get upset about it because they wer so jaded, that they were numb to it. He eventally quit because he couldn't establish what scared him more, taking it all personally when someone couldn't be saved, or being so used to it that it didn't affect him. Just something to think about.(sorry if I get a little bit motherly at times, it's my nature.)
I'm thinking about becoming a fireman. Is that silly? Or no.. It would go against my usual tendencies, though I'm just a fire player, not an arsonist or anything. So it goes right in line with fire safety, or something.

fireman? yes.. my good friend and fellow burner works on fire crew. he does the whole wild fire bit.. which i think you would like (not that i know you) but it is seasonal and pays really really well. plus you're helping the environment. it's not as much training and you get to be out of the city for a bit. look into it. and i will for sure buy your calander as long as you're naked next to a tree..

czech absinthe is the best in my opinion... you can pick some up on ebay... pretty rad stuff. get the crap that has a high balance of alcohol/thujone balance, it gives you the best results. i've blacked out pretty much all the times i've drank it. pretty fun on occasion.
