So Theatre Bizarre was last night... and it went WONDERFULLY. Excellent time was had by all, and the show went great, though not without a hitvh. The stage was slippery beyond all else, so a few tricks had to get held back a bit, but i dont really think the audience knew any different.
Right before we went on stage, Joe took a tumble.. whilst on his stilts. He had never fallen on his stilts before, and I had talked to him about it. He was real afraid of his first fall, and it kinda had him worried, because falls on stilts (unless you know what you're doing) are usually scary and painful at best, and serious injuries are not uncommon. And unfortunately, no one in our troupe knows the proper way to fall from stilts, so 'tis a daunting prospect, this falling.down. But I was right there, and i think maybe Becca was on his other side, and we caught him, so he's past his first fall without any problems. So now he's a little more relaxed on high i think. So much so that he walked around the grounds after the show a little bit... even went under the tunnel.
During the big show, I slipped and fell four or five times on the place Joe slipped, and I had real shoes on, not stilts, so yeah.. it was like an oil spill.
Met up with a few burners I had met at the decomp, but didnt really remember. One was dressed as the Dread Pirate Roberts, and he was handing out shrooms, but they didnt have any effect on anyone who took em, which was disappointing to me, because I havent yet tried shrooms, so I basically consider that I still havent.
Made one new friend in Sean. And we all know how hard it is for me to make new friends, so I'm very happy that happ'nd.
Beth's friends kind of left her in the lurch at around 1,30.. so I drove her home. which meant she hung around me for the last couple of hours.. which would not have been my first choice, but all is well that ends well. She just gets off on complainging about... well bloody every fucking thing. On the same page, Mr March is getting much better at his "oh hey I think a friend is calling me"
Two great confidence boosting things took place: 1) I got stopped in the crowd several times to be told how great people thought the show was. always nice. 2) even before the show, I was just talking to a guy who was working at one of the 'bars,' and later as I waled by, I did the Charlie Chaplin hat-tip, and I heard him say to his friend next to him, "this guy's awesome."
