In just a little more than a week I’ll be gone to Guatemala for 7 there (9 days if I count the fly in and fly out).
This is my itinerary ish. By the way, none of those are my pictures. They got taken on google.
When I arrive at the airport of Guatemala City on the 12th I’ll go straight to Antigua to the guest house of an expedition company.
Real day 1: I’m walking up and illdo what they call the double whammy. It’s a 10 hour trek up hill that is known to be pretty intense but so worth it. I’ll be climbing 2 volcanoes, 1 of them is in eruption right now. Climb one in eruption at sunset.... camp there.
Day 2: .... and climbing the other at dawn.
The way back down is only 2 hours. So I’ll be jumping in a chicken bus heading to El Paredon. A little surfer town of the beaten path.
Day 3: It’s surf time and trying to catch some underwater wave pictures.
At the end of that day, I jump on another chicken bus heading back to Antigua cause the next morning it’s another chicken bus of 10 hours.
Day 4: surfeiting on the chicken bus. Arriving in Cobán it’s drinking... well for sure I will do that all the way during my trip but that night I’ll have nothing else to do. Lol
Day 5: I’m there for Semuc Champey and the Kan’ ba caves. The Caves are pretty sketchy cause you visit them with a candlelight. Yep!!! I said that right, a candle.
Day 6: A little shuttle to lanquin, then it’s tubing time and visit the lanquin cave. Heading there at sunset to see the bats coming out of the cave.
Day 7: it’s back to Antigua. I’ll be only in transfer and staying half days in Antigua but I sure hope to visit a little this beautiful city.
The next day in the morning it’s airport in Guatemala City with a 8.5 hour layover in Houston Texas. That’s on the 20th. I dunno if someone is down to meet up. I def got a few hours I could kill. I won’t have my DSLR camera with me, but I’m bringing my Canon G15, which is still a decent. If any ladies wants a shoot on my way back home.
I hope someone in Houston Texas will contact me. That be grand. 😊
It should be an amazing, totally not relaxing trip. Can’t wait. 😊
