i work 3-11 front desk at a hotel. i'm ashamed of which hotel, so i'm not going to tell you. last night was my first night working alone. let's just say, i re-folded all of the sheets, pillowcases, and towels because the back room was messy. i should have brought something to do. i can't think of anything though. i don't have any books on my to-read list. i don't have any homework (thank fuck!). i don't have anyone to play board games with. i'm considering re-reading a book that i've already read twice. the fact that i read it twice is amazing, nevermind that i'm considering reading it again. i hate that i'm being held down by the man. one day i will have a fucking kickass job. until then, je suis une etudiant d'universite pauvre avec un boulot crappy.

yesterday, before my boss left me alone for the first time, a woman came to the front desk asking for something. it wasn't something i could handle, so my boss had to come out from his office. after she left, i walked back to his office and was like, "wow, she smelled pretty." and he was like, "man, her breath was nasty, i think she ate the cigarettes." that cracked me up.

i think i got hit on by a coworker last night. it was interesting. this guy emory, who works night audit, was like "you probably have a boyfriend nearby to go home to, a high school sweetheart or something." and i was rendered speechless. i was like, uhhh... and i didn't really respond. i never know what to say when poeple ask me about that. was he hitting on me?

well-hell, it's off to work for me. i just gathered a few things to do. i have The Little Prince, a collection of essays, called The Southern Maine Review, written by people who go to my school, and White Oleander, the book i've aleady read twice. think that'll be enough? ha, i probably won't even end up reading!
