i had my crim class today
my professor is so brilliant
he just like spews forth hundreds of random facts about crime
with such great ease and speed
sometimes i can hardly follow him
i have to try to write everything down
because he says he can/will test us on anything he says

did you know that more people die every year in this country than how many people died in the Vitenam war? and almost half of them are homicides!
maine, my state, has the lowest murder rate in the country (some years it ties with ND and SD) but even that is higher than any European country for homicides!
did anyone hear that marijuana possession was just legalized in britain? (no joke...my professor is british). guess why... the police think it's a waste of time to go after people for possession.
also in britain, police officers don't carry guns. only 1 in 10 is licensed to have a gun, but 1 in 100 actually has one.
our crime rate is higher than any other place in the world...


and this is my job - to go to class to learn all the stuff, then pick out the most interesting to report back to you!
