Why is it that I'm always the one on the bus that someone wants to talk to? I helped an older woman at a bus stop pick something up that she dropped.... And how did she pay me back? Well she talked to me for the next 45 min on the bus about poetry and how wonderful the Seattle Metro (the bus company here) book of poetry is. She pointed out poems that I should read that were up on the bus and asked me to even read some of them to her... Blah.... I'm not really a big poetry person and I especially don't want to read them to people. but I respect old people and so I did it anyways. I figure they should be happy and help them considering the Feds won't help them much. I'm much more of a book or magazine or new paper person...
The day after that happened i ended up sitting next to, Mr. I just started a non profit group. He was interesting and we agreed politically on allot, at the same time he was a bit of a wacko.... Most ppl you meet on the bus are. We talked about Cuba's self reliance on energy and I added quite a bit to the conversation because of my extensive knowledge of the island. He seemed to be energy focused but I enjoyed talking about food and manufacturing as well. He asked me to come and talk at the next town hall his group was having, I don't no if I will. Last time I was asked to go talk somewhere was to a collage class and that freaked me out so I don't no about talking to a non profit grass roots political organisation. I tend to keep my thoughts to myself and my friends and family.
The weather has been quite lovely lately, I wish it would be a bit more cloudy and rainy but its nice. I'm looking forward to buying a new jacket soon and I think I want a long pointy umbrella to cover me from the rain this year and to use to poke and point at things. So many things to point at like fallen drunken sailors and to poke at passed out junkies and such
Went to the thrift shop the other day looking for some things to get before the new puppy arrives... Found nothing for the puppy but Mizz Juno found a bunch of decent clothes and I found a Burt Bacharach vinyl that I had been keeping my eye out for a while now. For some reason I've been into jazz standards lately, not that I would throw Burt into that category but well I've been buying some weird records lets just say... Perhaps it's all the V I've been eating.
Watched "Crucible of Horror" and "Riot on the Sunset Strip" yesterday.... lots of fun.. For some reason the older I get the more fun these old movies are. I suppose it's because they are more fun when you've had a few drinks or something.
Anyways I need to get more things done in prep for the puppy.... Oh yeah did I mention we are getting a puppy? More info soon!!!
